One2snacks is our go-to Malaysian cheap eats. Pro-tip: Call ahead to place your order (dine in or takeout) to make sure there's food left!
Brian (the front store guy, guy who picks up the phone, and owner) is super friendly and knowledgable. He's also happy to help his customers out whether it's helping you pack up those leftovers or giving you the store's email to pre-order your food. And trust me, you will want to pre-order if you want food at all.
We've seen this place go from tiny, inconspicuous hole in the wall to now incredibly busy, run out of food by 6:30pm, does catering kind of restaurant. Through it all, Brian is the same super nice owner and the food has consistently been very good.
Inside the store is small. Maybe 8 seats at most and it can get busy with take out orders. Brian is pretty organized in that he blocks off chunks of time for each meal (hence, pre order!). There is self serve tea. If you need more hot sauce, just ask for it!
Food: Laksa - so deliciously good. Note you can choose between yellow egg noodles and vermicelli - or get both! I prefer the vermicelli because I find it picks up the sauce/broth better but others love the thicker noodles. The broth is a delicious coconut curry broth. Inside is chunks of chicken, shrimp, fish cakes, some bean sprouts, deep fried tofu. I just enjoy how each item picks up the delicious broth. Must try if you come here, especially if you love laksa. - 4.5/5
Char kway teow - choice of flat rice noodles or egg noodles - or get both! This is a delicious noodle dish that comes with chicken - freshly fried in a wok in sumptuous soya and Malaysian paste sauce. Also, a must try if you enjoy dry noodles - 4.5/5
Rice noodles in egg sauce (Wat Tan Hor) - this was actually the dish that Brian recommends and he likes the most. It comes with chicken, shrimp, bok choy Oman egg sauce in rice noodle. It's a bit more saucy than Chinese versions but man is it good. 4.5/5
Hokkien mein - this is a very unique noodle dish that is fried in a sweeter sauce. Not as popular mainly because I think some people will love this or think it's meh. I do find it gets monotonous after a bit but it's got a unique flavor. 4/5
Only complaint about the food is that I wish there were more vegetables but for the price, I'll go buy my own veges on the side.
Desserts are amazing but only available on weekends - I highly recommend trying them. Loved the coconut one. 5/5.
Price: This place used to be about $7.25 for a dish pre tax and tip. It's gone up by $1 but it's still totally worth it. It's gonna be hard to find a Malaysian place that's this cheap and good! Cash only! -

This place is very much a hidden gem that's tucked away in an ordinary food court. It might not be hidden for long.
This place gives you great value for money while you fill your tummy with Malaysian street food eats in this really small shop.
A veteran move is to either call ahead to put in your order at the shop then go run some errands. I think I saw a lot of people do that and it seems like the best way to minimize the wait.
The place seems to be family run so have patience and don't be a jerk.
They happened to be quite behind on orders during our visit and said the wait time was about 40 minutes. We decided to endure and came back 40 minutes later on a Saturday afternoon.
It was well worth the wait for a really warm and hearty serving of laksa that was full of creamy shrimp broth, noodles that held up well against the soup, and a mix of chicken/shrimp/tofu tucked in and around the bowl. The char kway teow noodles had really good "wok hey" and it was just the right amount of spicy and savoury. The portion was also quite large that you can definitely share it with someone.
Really enjoyed this place and I hope others will too! -

One2 Snacks was definitely not on my radar, but I'm always up for trying a new joint, so I happily said yes when this place was offered as a lunch suggestion.
I'm so glad I did.
It's a tiny place. There are very few seats, but we did manage to snag a couple of spots at the window table. A quick perusal of the tasty-looking menu led me to the Curry Laksa, which I ordered at the maximum spice level (of course).
It was ready maybe 15 minutes later and it's good. Really good. The broth itself is incredibly flavorful and contains a decent level of spice, while the various components, which includes chicken and fish cake, all work really well. The two different kinds of noodles didn't really blow me away, but that's a minor complaint for a dish that's otherwise way above average.
I can't wait to return and try some of their other offerings. -

What can be said that hasn't already been touched upon?
While it can be frustrating that it is only open 4 days a week, you should understand if you order in person.
My first time there, and I did not call ahead, I just happened to be in the plaza, and I read the rave reviews on Yelp.
Ordered the Laksa and char tway keow and while I waited (about 25minutes on a Thursday afternoon), I could see how hard the family works in the kitchen. The place is very small, with the kitchen taking up more than half the place, and the parents are literally cooking they ass off in the back with hot heat, and one can only imagine how hot it gets on busy summer days! Meanwhile their son manned the front constantly taking orders in person or from the phone with a very polite and pleasant demeanor, you just can't help but appreciate how hard they work.
Seriously, if you're a fan of this place, at least visit in person and appreciate how hard they work!
Onto the food:
The Laksa: Ok so I've only tried Laksa and two other places, one was an ok restaurant in Scarborough and the other a cheaper option by my house in North York. Both forgettable, but had distinct fish sauce flavors that overpowered the curry. One2snacks version? It literally reminded me of Pai Toronto's Khao Soi. This dish is my favorite at Pai, and the quality is much better than other thai restaurants. So to compare One2Snacks' Laksa with Pai's Khao Soi is a very big compliment from me and only costs you about $8 !! Try it first with the mixed noodles as you'd get two different textures (as recommended to me from the son). The thicker noodle is chewy and the skinnier one holds the broth better, so the combo keeps you from feeling "heavy".
Char Tway Keow: Now this dish is very similar to Chinese cuisines' "Ho Phun"and again, let me tell you that this happens to be my usual order for quick Chinese food cravings. I love ho phun! But honestly, this was just wayyyy better. As people have previously mentioned, you really do taste that "Char" in a fantastically perfect way. NOT like a "oh snap this might give me cancer" kinda way. There is shrimp (and I inspect all my shrimps) without the veins, chicken, veggies and the flavors are just incredibly smooth. Not too peppery, or too soy saucy, just a perfect pile of greasy heaven textures is how I'd describe it.
Listen, this is probably my longest review, but I was just genuinely happy after eating here. My two favorite dishes from different cultures had better substitutes here and for cheaper! If you get the Laksa you will be left with broth, and I highly recommend you add your own noodles, or dumplings or rice cakes at home, or even simply just have some rice mixed in to enjoy every spoonful! -

This is one of my favourite places for take-out. You can call in ahead - I usually do so the day before, so I can just pick up the next day. I still get there early before they open but they usually give you an approximate timing of when is feasible for pick up since they are a really small kitchen. It seems all family run and I think it's usually the son who handles the orders.
The portions are ginormous, but mind you, a lot of it is noodles and rice. It's slightly greasy, but really delicious. I love the laksa and char kway teow the most. They pack everything up in foil with cardboard slats for easy transportation. There are a few seats, but it's just way more comfortable to eat this deliciousness at home.
